Congratulations to the Mustang soccer team for its continued march to making school history! The Mustangs dominated West Torrance on Thursday afternoon and were up 4-0 by halftime. Senior Ernesto Vergara scored three goals and senior Christopher Ramirez added one in the first half. Junior Julian Vazquez put the Mustangs up 5-0 in the second half. The Mustang defense continued its stellar play in earning the shutout. The Mustangs have only surrendered one goal in our last three playoff games.
With the victory over West Torrance, the Mustangs have earned Salesian’s fifth trip to a soccer state championship game in the 14 year history of the state tournament. Salesian is the first school in state history to make it to 5 state championship games! The game will be played at 5:00 on Saturday evening in Mustang Stadium. It is the first time in school history that a state championship will be played on our campus! Mr. Loera will send the ticket link out on Friday morning. We expect the game to be a sellout, so buy your tickets early!
