Biography: Mr. Jackson is a born and bred New Yorker who only moved to Los Angeles in 1994. He attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts after graduating from Archbishop Molloy High School. Thomas graduated with a BFA in Cinema Studies and Writing (and also minored in Classical Civilizations!). He went to receive a Masters in Cinema Studies from NYU and the rest is history. Thomas is an avid reader with a personal library of several thousand books, assorted film memorabilia, movies, comic books, and toys – much to the chagrin of his wife. A lover of writing, Thomas writes almost exclusively with fountain pens – a source of never-ending interest from his students! Horror and Science Fiction are his two favorite genres with 2001: A Space Odyssey his favorite movie. His favorite author is Joyce Carol Oates and his favorite novel (written by JCO) is Wonderland. Interestingly enough, Thomas won a Dramalogue Award for Best Direction for JCO’s play, American Holiday, produced here in Los Angeles.
After a long and varied journey, Thomas found his true calling in the field of education. He was the junior high ELA teacher at Our Mother of Good Counsel in Los Feliz for a number of years. Thomas feels amazingly blessed to have joined the Salesian family and welcomes the opportunity to help shape and guide our young men.
